Charlotte Fox - Head of Arts & Literature Faculty

Charlotte Fox joined Harris Westminster Sixth Form in 2014. As an undergraduate, she read Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge and has recently completed a Masters in Modern and Contemporary English Literature at Oxford. She teaches English Literature and Art History and enjoys reading, writing and travelling in her free time.

Experience and think critically of their classes when they used movies as a method of teaching. 4.1 Participants The participants in the study were 50 Saudi female intermediate level students studying English in the English language Institute (ELI) at the King Abdul Aziz University. The participants aged between 18 and 21 years old.

• Film Literature Grades: 10, 11, 12 Film Literature studies the diversified ideas and concepts that interact when written literature is adapted to film or when a work of literary art is originally conceived for film presentation.
• Get an answer for 'Best Films to Use in a Literature Course/Classroom In teaching literature, there are a few films that I find particularly well suited to 'reading and interpreting' as literature.

Alex Massouras - Teacher of Art

Alex Massouras is an artist and writer. He studied at Cambridge, before doing a PhD as part of a research project at Tate. He exhibits internationally, and examples of his work are in many museum collections. He enjoys teaching both art practice and art theory, particularly when it relates to painting and printmaking.

Hania Stella-Sawicka - Teacher of Art

Hania Stella-Sawicka trained at the Royal College of Art and has been making work and exhibiting as a practising artist in the years since. She has always been fascinated by how we learn from visual and material culture and enjoys offering Harris Westminster students an insight into contemporary art in London. She has come to teaching bringing a range of experience in the field, working with creative studios, designers and galleries.

Sharon White - Teacher of Art

Sharon trained at Central St Martins College of Art and Design, specialising in 3D and Sculpture. She is an experienced teacher of Art having taught in inner London for 25 years. She recently took a career break to embark on a family GAP year, undertaking a world tour with her partner and 4 children. She practices her own work in mixed media and collage. She is returning to teaching with exciting new ideas and great enthusiasm.

Rosa Goodman - Teacher of Art History

After studying Fine Art at Central St Martin’s Rosa Goodman read History of Art and Italian at University College London, followed by a Masters at Oxford University. She has worked at various museums and galleries, including the Palazzo Strozzi in Florence and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Before teaching History of Art in schools, she taught in Italy and to undergraduates at UCL. Her academic interests include the Italian Renaissance, Gender and Female Artists, and the intersection of popular practice and ritualistic objects. She enjoys all aspects of Italian culture: film, fashion, Fine Art and, all importantly, food.

Lizzie Skeaping - Teacher of Art History and History

Lizzie Skeaping teaches History and History of Art at Harris Westminster. She studied History and Culture at the University of Warwick, specialising in Renaissance Italian art and modern Irish history. Before joining Harris Westminster, she taught at The National Archives, home to some of the UK's most iconic historical records, and completed a Masters in Museums and Galleries in Education. Her fascination with different lives and cultures prompted her to teach abroad in Vietnam and Spain. She enjoys sport and dreams of playing cricket for England.

Freddie Baveystock - Teacher of English

Freddie Baveystock is passionate about literature, culture and learning. He took his first degree in English at Worcester College, Oxford; followed this with a MA from University College London in Anglo-American Literary Relations; and then went on to complete a DPhil at Wolfson College, Oxford on the impact of American nationalism upon its literature during the first half of the C19. As well as teaching in London, Oxford and Reading, he has worked as a journalist, consumer researcher and brand consultant. He is a Trustee of Gladstone’s Library in Hawarden, and in that capacity advises on its Writer in Residence programme.

Kate Gould - Teacher of English

Kate teaches English at Harris Westminster. She grew up in Nottingham and studied English Literature at the University of Sussex, enjoying especially the interdisciplinary nature of the subject. After university she worked in publishing before moving to Barcelona to learn Spanish and teach English for 3 years. Kate has been teaching English A-Level in London for 3 years now and in her spare time enjoys reading, creative writing, cycling, travelling and a good ramble in the countryside.

Katherine Wasley - Teacher of English

Katherine Wasley is an English teacher at Harris Westminster. She has previously been an English teacher and Sixth Form English Coordinator at Westminster Academy for eleven years where she taught the International Baccalaureate. Ms Wasley studied English Studies and Philosophy at The University of Nottingham. After gaining her degree, she taught in Hong Kong for a year before training to become a teacher with TeachFirst. In addition to her love of reading widely, Ms Wasley is a keen member of the National Theatre and loves the distraction of a life drawing class. Ms Wasley also enjoys yoga and can usually be found pottering around in her garden at the weekend trying to create the perfect border.

Sophia Bellaoui – Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages

Sophia Bellaoui is a French native speaker from Paris. She speaks fluent Spanish and has studied English and Film Studies at the Sorbonne. Prior to joining Harris Westminster, she has worked as a translator in the film industry and has taught in a grammar school in Surrey and an international school in Vietnam. Passionate about teaching, she deems the study of a language and its culture a wonderful way for students to further their understanding of the world and expand their minds. Always fascinated by exotic lands, she has lived in the Bahamas and Thailand, and recently took a year off to travel from India to the South Pacific islands.

Michael Pirbakas– Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages

Michael teaches French and Spanish at Westminster. He was born in France but grew up in the French Caribbean where he studied English and Spanish at the Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (Martinique). Passionate about teaching languages, Michael went on to do a Masters Degree in didactics of foreign languages at the University of Paris 8. Michael has now been teaching French and Spanish in London for 7 years and in his spare time he enjoys reading, exercising and travelling.

Lorenzo Iglesias teaches Spanish at Harris Westminster. Born and bred in Asturias, Spain, he studied English at the University of Oviedo before migrating to London, where he found inspiration in the city’s unfathomable diversity. He then went on to pursue a career in teaching, studying a Master in Secondary Education in the International University of La Rioja. He is passionate about sharing his culture with students, and he is as eager to learn as he is to teach.

Ella is a Chartered Librarian who oversees the Extended Project at Harris Westminster. She read English Literature at Goldsmiths, University of London before gaining her Masters in Library and Information Studies at University College London. Of particular interest to her are issues relating to unconscious bias and prejudice in information architecture inspired by the research and advocacy of Sanford Berman. Ella believes that every individual should enjoy reading which inspires her approach to supporting students, be they book worms or unconfident readers. She is particularly partial to Science Fiction especially works that explore postcolonialism or discourses on gender and racial divides. In her spare time she enjoys watching films which her friends class as ‘depressing cinematography’ and spending time with her beloved cats.
