Athletic Trainers Excel in Arts & Entertainment

Athletic trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care of injuries and medical conditions. ATs collaborate with physicians to provide the highest level of care to all types of patients in a variety of job settings. ATs become certified at the national level through the Board of Certification and are regulated by law in nearly every state.
ATs improve a patient's ability to function in their daily lives after sustaining an injury, and they specialize in patient education and training to prevent injury and re-injury. ATs can reduce the incidence of injury and shorten rehabilitation time for their patients, which translates to fewer missed days from work or activity and lower health care costs. Injury risk reduction plans created and implemented by ATs give employers a positive return on investment. ATs often provide patient care in collaboration with professionals from a variety of fields and are adept at coordinating a patient's care across interrelated disciplines such as dietetics, mental health, and strength & conditioning.
Athletic Trainers are uniquely positioned to thrive in the entertainment industry, utilizing their athletic medicine knowledge and experience, hands-on injury rehabilitation skills, and emergency response training to provide top-notch proactive care to historically underserved Artistic Athletes and help them perform at their best.
